Taco Works Tortilla Chips
Taco Works of San Luis Obispo makes the best tortilla chips in the world. Each chip is a celebration of crunch and delicate taste. They pair equally well with salsa and guacamole. Once you start eating them, you will find that you'll crave for them nightly.
I ate them as a child and I eat them now as an adult. But it is only now, as an adult and given over to reading ingredient lists due to my craven fears of hydrogenated oils, that I know why the darn things are so tasty. MSG.
Who cares. I shall continue to eat them. That's what life is all about. You have to take the pros with the cons.

I live in N. California. Lucky's used to sell the chips, but they're out of business and I'd sure like to buy a bag . . . or 100. Do you know whom might carry these incredible chips in my area?
These chips are still produced, and no longer carry MSG. They are delivered to certain areas in NorCal, however I cannot be more specific than that; you have to hunt to find them! The company is very small.
Gene's Market in Saratoga
Ben Lomond Market in Ben Lomond (off highway 9)
Scotts Valley Market in Scotts Valley - off highway 17 (Granite Creek exit).
Werecently visited San Luis Obispo and purchased some of their taco works salsa. My kids and I agree that it is the best store purchased salsa that we have ever tried. Does anyone know if it is available in the Sacramento area? If not- they should think about expanding. Their products run circles around the major brands.
The Thistle Hut fruit and vegetable stand on Highway 1 just south of Moss Landing.
Lynardi's used to carry them, and about the time that the masses started getting rid of the partially hydrogenated this that and the other, they disappeared.
The fact that they are made with coconut oil is one thing that is a negative fro the waistline, but I can't speak for the MSG or other stuff because I have been craving, and searching for them for months!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can a man get some help in San Francisco? I'm desperate! The whole rest of the taco chips market sucks once you have had these, forget about it!
I used to live in CA and loved buying these chips in the store. Now I'm in CO and they aren't in any stores here, but I called the company directly and they will ship you a "1-pound original" case (12 one-pound bags) for a very reasonable price to your own home! So you can get them quite readily! Give them a call to get order details.
someone needs to buy this company and go global...talk about supply and demand!!
You can buy directly from them by the case though their website www.tacoworks.net :)
